Global Privacy Working Group

The objective of the Global Privacy working group is to develop guidelines, standards, and tools to facilitate uniform encoding, communication and decoding of consumer privacy preference signals throughout the digital supply chain.
Privacy and Rearc Commit Group

The objective of the commit group is to oversee the work streams, technology standards, and guidelines for the converging areas of global privacy, identity, and regulatory compliance.
Rearc Accountability Working Group

The objective of the working group is to explore and develop guidelines, standards, and technical mechanisms that facilitate industry accountability to privacy-centric addressability standards and adherence to data subjects’ privacy preferences as well as provide transparency to organizations for identifiers they use.

Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs) Working Group

The Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs) Working Group’s initial efforts will focus on education and awareness of PETs in the digital advertising ecosystem. The Working Group will also co-develop solutions, set PETs-related standards, steward open-sourced technical solutions through Tech Lab, and share new PETs proposals with the industry.
Rearc Addressability Working Group

The Rearc Addressability Working Group is the member-only working group responsible for the development of new technical standards and guidelines driving “privacy by default” advertising, based on the global business and policy dialogue within the Rearc Task Force. We’ll evaluate technology alternatives to today’s short-lived addressability mechanisms, and develop the technology foundations for tomorrow’s consumer-centric solutions for ad targeting, measurement and optimization, enhancing consumer transparency and industry accountability.
Taxonomy & Mapping Working Group

It aims to provide standardized languages for advertising use cases. We currently think about this in three buckets, 1. way to communicate the composition of an audience, 2. what is being advertised, and 3. the environment where an ad is being rendered.

The Advanced TV working group aims to modernize the television advertising technology stack. The evolution from traditional linear television to new combinations of digital video, live streaming and linear requires standardization and interoperability.

Security Foundations Working Group

Design open standards to provide cryptographic security to various use cases in the advertising supply chain. This includes authenticating the origin of messages between parties communicating programmatically and providing tamper evidence of specific values. This group is open to any Tech Lab member but is highly technical.

European Communication Group

With the European Communication Group, IAB Tech Lab informs the European markets regularly on the latest progress of Tech Lab working groups and other activities. With this form of communication, the IAB Tech Lab wants to create more transparency in its work and promote a better exchange with European stakeholders. The sessions are free and relevant for anybody who wishes to be kept up to date on Tech Lab’s collaborative efforts to create open standards for the industry.
